Happy December 1st, everybody! Today I didn't do much except from staying home, petting my pets and sewing on buttons, okay that's a bit of a lie, it was more of watching grandma sewing on buttons for me. Bad me. But let's be bright, I wasn't being lazy. I was simply finding an opportunity to spend some quality time with her while simultaneously making her feel useful. Yes, that's the story I'm telling. Truth be told, as most grannies, she enjoys pampering me and who am I to oppose it, right?
Anyway despite of the lack of exciting or productive activities there is no reason not to have fun with what you're wearing even if it is to go to a Lions meeting. After all, as Kurt would say, "every moment of your life is an opportunity for fashion!" Yes, I'm head over heels for Glee. Aren't you? It's food to my geek and I love it. Tv series are like crack to me and that's my dirty little secret, now you know it too.
This last one was the view from my bedroom window just before that storm hit the south of Brazil. Literally, the calm before the storm. We had so many trees fall down, luckly no serious damage. Looking on the positive side, we'll have plenty of firewood for when winter comes.
Wearing...
Zara dress (had to alter the heck out of it but I loved the color so much)
thrifted belt
arezzo flats (brazilian brand)
random assortment of bracelets mixing some bling, fake pearls and leather
Have fun in the sun! bisou ;)
These pictures are from Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson album, Breakup. The cd is filled with a collection of sweet breezy feel-good tunes which I believe should be listened to when alone and feeling like relaxing preferably while watching the sunset. You know when a song leaves an easy smile on your lips, like when you listen to Belle and Sebastian, Sufjan Stevens or She And Him, that's how these make me feel. Calm, warm, happy in a very simple, earthly way.
Cute music aside, what I wanted to share with you guys were the promoting images of the album. They perfectly translate the aesthetic I've been drawn to lately, very retro and romantic. Dim light, fading pastels, the 50's. All very appropriate for a girl in love or perhaps of one under the influence of a flower scented Spring air.

Have a flowery day yourselves! ;)
If you either grew up during the 80's, or like me caught late night reruns at some obscure tv-channel you too will be excited to hear that He-man, She-ra and the rest of the Masters of the Universe crew are back! Only in a much more fashionable way.
He-Man wears: Jacket - Dior Homme, Jeans - April 77, Shoes - Pierre Hardy
Tri-Clops wears: Jacket & Top - Custom, Jeans - Cheap Monday, Shoes - Nike
Roboto wears: Shirt - Flat Head, Jeans - Iron Heart, Shoes - Common Projects
Teela wears: Dress - Zara, Stockings - H&M, Shoes - Stella McCartney
Stratos wears: Glasses & T-Shirt - American Apparel, Jeans - Dior Homme, Shoes - F-Troupe
She-Ra wears: Jacket & Top - H&M, Jeans - April 77, Shoes - Vintage
Adrien Riemann, a self-confessed fashion-nerd illustrator, has revived the characters. He pictured them in an "indie/hipster/fashion-scene, as if they were doing a photoshooting for some magazine". I thought the idea was great and super original, perhaps even an exhibiton will be coming soon. Either way, they sure bring back good memories of happy childhood times!

If one day you were to catch me on the street it's almost certain that I'd have something black on, however lately I've been remarkably drawn to head-to-toe nude looks consisting of romantic pale shades such as these sheer pinks and grays at Jen Kao Spring 2010 runway show that got me swooning over.Besides the lovely soft color palette there is something so flattering about the loose fits with just the right amount of slouchiness, but what really made this collection stand out to me was the combination of the above with that subtle shimmer to really make it unique and sexy in a feminine and laidback kinda of way.
It just looks chic, cool and like something I can really see any girl feeling confident in.
Finally, the paneled suede bustier dress that to be honest would require hours in the gym for me to even consider wearing, but that I can totally visualize in other very stylish and fit bloggers such as The Cherry Blossom Girl. You know you are, babe, You’re such a pretty girl You can be lost, babe Keep walking always, Don’t stop, just goDon't wear fancy brands But you've got friends Oh, that's enough to know the worldYou know you've got - Mallu Magalhães(she is just adorable, do check it out)Have fun ;)
By know I'm sure everyone (meaning us, fashion lovers) knows the sequel for Sex & the City The Movie is on the making. And if you are as excited about it as I am you too will be delighted to see the following images I came across as I was browsing at Adoro!, a lovely blog that oozes with sweet and feminine outfits and a whole lot more, the blog is run by a brazilian clothing brand called Farm, do check it out if you wish to get a taste of the brazilian fashion scene.
So, here you have Carrie, as she first arrives in New York City, strolling around in the best of 80's fashion and wearing converses (did you ever think you'd see that?! - I love it!).
And then back to a much more groomed current Carrie, in all her stylish self. Isn't it a perfect white dress? With the perfect accessories to make it stand out, the statement necklace, the golden clutch, the Carrie high-risk heels!
I happen to love both looks just as much, but seeing as I have a very laidback and unkept style, you are much more likely to catch me in an ensemble inspired by Carrie's 80's self with a bit of 90's in the mix than her current glam look, perhaps as I grow older and my fashion taste evolves I too will become more groomed and glamorous but for now Converses serve me fine.
Which look do you see yourself in?
